There is one major forgotten item in my budget: animals. Having pets costs money. Last month I spent $45 on food for them. Of course, I don't think I buy them food every month, but I think I will budget in $50 per month anyways and that way we have the excess for vet visits and all that fun stuff.
I purchased Quicken tonight to help me track my expenses and all that. I took my lunch today and successfully resisted the urge to order a pizza for dinner. Instead I had a couscous salad but I didn't care for it much. Oh well, live and learn, right?
